How to dismantle a submersible pump in the correct way?

Environment conditions for using a submersible pump:

1. Save and reliable power source is available.

2. The height difference between pipe outlet and water surface in pool shall be smaller than the pump head.

3. Choose relatively clean water source.

If submersible pump is not used under the above conditions, it may go wrong. When maintaining a submersible pump, we have to dismantle it firstly. Here Weihu Pump is going to share some knowledge about the correct ways of dismantling a submersible pump.

Before dismantling a submersible pump, make a mark with a chisel at the joining line between front end cover and the pump base, another mark between the back end cover and the pump base. The motor has been well assembled in factory. If it is not assembled as it was before maintaining, slight errors may be generated, and the rotation shaft will become less flexible.

Check the burning condition of the winding carefully in dismantling. Make preliminary analysis about the reasons for burning. Note the obvious problems, such as slight sweeping to motor chamber, rolling ball breaks.

If the motor winding is severely rusted, don’t try to punch it off with force, but use gas welding to heat the joining line while hit it slightly with a hammer. Take it off with a punch when it expands with heat.

When dismantling and maintaining the broken windings, note to protect the iron core and the plastic protective ring. If an inappropriate method is used, the iron core may expand outward or be damaged. When the motor is charged, it may produce galvano magnetic effect and make the iron core and windings vibrate, easy to break the insulation of felt paper and electromagnetic wire. The correct way of dismantling is to cut the windings from one end with diagonal pliers, and draw it out with a clamp from the other end.
