1 Classification by use of submersible pump type can be divided into:

2 according to the classification of motor waterproof submersible pump type is divided into:

(1) dry type submersible pump. The motor shaft extension ends with mechanical seals or air sealing device, tight seal, to prevent the water into the motor cavity, keep the machine dry. But due to the sealing structure, immersed depth should not be too large.

(2) semi dry type submersible electric pump. The motor stator and rotor with the stator shield separate, sealed, water and isolation, and the rotor to run in water. Due to shield the existence of air gap increases, the effect of motor performance, has been rarely used

(3) oil filled submersible pump. Insulating oil filled in the motor cavity, to prevent water and moisture against the motor winding, and insulation, cooling and lubrication. Insulating oil of the motor can be as pressure, to prevent the leakage of oil immersed in water and the shaft extension end still requires the use of sealing device. When the sealing failure, will cause water pollution, it is not suitable for the extraction of water. In addition, the motor rotor rotation, in oil resistance, the motor efficiency is low.

(4) the wet submersible pump. The stator windings are wound with waterproof insulated wires. Motor filled with pure water, the rotor immersed in water running, good thermal performance. The higher requirement to the material of the pump, the problem of corrosion prevention on the part of the more stringent requirements.
