Stainless steel submersible pump working principles general introduction
According to different working principles, water pumps can be classified into positive displacement pumps and vane pumps, etc. Positive displacement pumps pass energy by the change of its work chamber volume. This type of pumps mainly includes piston pump, plunger pump, gear pump, membrane pump, screw pump, etc. Vane pumps pass energy by the interaction between its rotating vanes and water. The second type of pumps includes centrifugal pump, axial flow pump, mixed flow pump, etc. The body part of the submersible electric pump is its vanes. Other types of water pumps include ejection flow pump, water hammer pump, inner combustion water pump, etc. They work with the principle of ejection, water hammer, fuel detonation respectively. Turbine-pump is a combination of water turbine and vane pump. The different types of water pumps mentioned above are best represented by the following kinds.
Stainless steel centrifugal pump makes water flow under the effect of centrifugal force. It is composed of pump case, impellers, rotation shaft, etc. The motor makes the shaft rotate, and the shaft will make the impellers rotate at high speed inside the pump case. Water inside the pump will be forced to rotate along with the impellers, generating centrifugal force. This centrifugal force will throw the fluids out from the rims of impellers, forming a water stream running, at high speed and with high pressure, out of the pump case. In the middle of impellers low pressure is formed and water will be drawn in continuously. The impellers have vanes bending against the direction of rotation. They can have closed structure, half-closed structure or open structure, three types in total. Those used for agricultural purpose often use closed impellers, of which the vanes are covered by round disks at two sides. The pump body expands gradually into a spiral shape toward the direction of water outlet pipe. Single suction centrifugal pump draws water in from one side of the impellers. Double suction centrifugal pump draws water in from both sides of the impellers. In order to increase pump head, we can add more impellers on the same shaft to make a multistage centrifugal pump. Water discharged from the first impeller will enter the next impeller, and be boosted before being discharged from the second impeller again. Therefore, when the pump has more impellers, it will pump water with higher pressure. Some centrifugal pump has a device to drain the air in suction pipe and stainless steel water pump case automatically, so you don’t have to fill the pump with water before starting it. This type of pump is called self-prime centrifugal pump, but its efficiency is lower than common centrifugal pump.
