Notes for submersible water pump assembly and maintenance
Before assembling a water pump, you should make the following checks.
1) Check if the rotor of the pump and the spiral case share one same center.
2) Check if the central line of the flow channel of the water pump faces the central line of the spiral flow channel exactly.
3) Adjust the clearance between the shaft bearing and the caps on the end.
4) Adjust the clearance in the sealing part.
5) Check if the motor of the drive system and the transmission, speed increaser or reducer are assembled according to standards.
6) Check the coaxiality of the coupling device.
7) Check if the clearance of the wear-ring complies with standards.
8) Check if the connection bolt of each part is tight enough.
Q: What is the purpose of maintaining a water pump? What are the requirements for maintenance?
A: The purpose of checking and maintaining a water pump is to find its problems when it has been running for a long time.
The requirements are as follows:
1) Rid off or adjust the larger clearance inside the pump caused by wear or corrosion.
2) Clean off the dirt and rust inside the submerisble water pump.
3) Repair or change the defective or unsatisfactory parts.
4) Take balance test on the rotor and see if it passes the test.
5) Check if the coaxiality of the pump and the motor comply with standards.
6) Give the water pump a test run. Make sure it runs well, has all necessary documents, and meets the needs for production process.
Q: Why does a water pump consume too much power?
A: 1) It may be because the total lift and the lift of the pump are not same.
2) It may be because the fluids density and viscosity are not same as what the pump is designed for.
3) The pump shaft and the shaft line of the prime motor are bent or not in the same line.
4) There is friction between the rotating part and the fixed part.
5) The wear-ring is worn out.
6) The sealing or mechanical sealing are not installed correctly.
